43. AVESTAN ASTROLOGY (Globa school)

I. View from Within the Tradition

Method's Worldview The universe is organized according to the principles of Zoroastrian dualism: Light and Darkness permeate all levels of being. Planets are embodiments of specific spiritual forces; birth inscribes a person into the Zoroastrian cosmic scenario.

What Is Considered Reality The planets of Light (Sun, Jupiter, Venus) and Darkness (Saturn, Mars) genuinely determine a person's nature and karmic tasks. Karma is reinterpreted as a struggle for the choice between Light and Darkness.

What Is an Event Within the Method An event is the activation of a karmic task inscribed in the natal chart. Certain transits open "karmic windows" — periods when the choice in favor of Light holds special significance.

Role of the Subject Bearer of a karmic incarnation program. Their task is to recognize their karmic assignment, develop "light" principles, and overcome "dark" temptations.

Purpose of the Method To reveal the karmic program, to determine "light" and "dark" tasks, to forecast karmic trials and "windows of opportunity," and to support spiritual growth.

II. How the Method Works

Origin Authorial syncretic (Pavel Globa, USSR/Russia, 1980s–1990s); presented as a reconstruction of Zoroastrian astrology; the first widely disseminated authorial astrological school in the post-Soviet space.

What It Is Used For Diagnosis of the personality's karmic program, interpretation through Zoroastrian imagery, forecast of karmic periods, navigation along the spiritual path.

Data Source Date, exact time, and place of birth — for constructing the natal chart in the Western astrological tradition.

Interpretation Principle Symbolic (dominant): Zoroastrian archetypes of Light and Darkness. Cyclical: transits and directions. Structural: the standard natal chart with authorial Zoroastrian symbolism.

Temporal Scope Natal chart + transit and directional cycles + life karmic trajectory through incarnations.

Predetermination Moderate with a karmic emphasis. Karma creates a program, but spiritual choice is decisive.

Scale of Applicability Individual; the concept of "egregores" — partially group.

Limitations An authorial system without confirmation of Zoroastrian historical primary sources. Mixing of astrological technique with religious imagery. Variability among followers.

Ethical Risks Quasi-religious burden placed on consulting. Manipulation through the concepts of "dark" forces and karmic "debts."

Degree of Verifiability Low. Zoroastrian historical authenticity is not confirmed.

III. Place Among Other Methods

Methods with Similar Data Source All astrological systems: Western Astrology, Jyotish, Cosmobiology, Harmonic Astrology.

Methods with Similar Operating Principle Karmic archetypal principle — as in Jyotish. Transit cycles — as in Western Astrology.

Key Difference from Similar Methods Zoroastrian dualism as the interpretive framework is unique. Unlike neutral schools, it introduces an explicit ethical-religious evaluation of planetary principles.

Relationship to Predetermination Karmic determinism is softened by emphasis on spiritual choice — closer to transformative than to predictive methods.

Parallel Application Possible With Western Astrology — the chart is constructed by the same principles; Avestan interpretation is an additional layer. With Jyotish — conceptual similarity through karma within different cultural frameworks.
