RU: Чакра
Chakra (Sanskrit चक्र, cakra — "wheel", "circle", "disc") is an energy center in the subtle body of a person, a point of intersection of energy channels (Nadis, नाडी).
Seven main chakras. The system of seven main chakras is the foundation of tantric physiology and of Kundalini Yoga practices.
The Seven Main Chakras (from base to crown)
- Muladhara (मूलाधार, mūlādhāra) — root. Element: Earth. Survival, stability.
- Svadhisthana (स्वाधिष्ठान, svādhiṣṭhāna) — sacral. Element: Water. Creativity, emotions.
- Manipura (मणिपूर, maṇipūra) — solar plexus. Element: Fire. Will, power.
- Anahata (अनाहत, anāhata) — heart. Element: Air. Love, compassion.
- Vishuddha (विशुद्ध, viśuddha) — throat. Element: Ether. Speech, self-expression.
- Ajna (आज्ञा, ājñā) — "the third eye". Beyond elements. Intuition, clairvoyance.
- Sahasrara (सहस्रार, sahasrāra) — crown. Beyond elements. Union with the Absolute.
Application in Different Systems
Ayurveda. In Ayurveda (#19), chakras are linked to the endocrine glands and nerve plexuses — a "bridge" between subtle and gross physiology.
Human Design. In Human Design (#15), the chakras are transformed into 9 "Centers" of the BodyGraph. This is a synthetic adaptation of the classical chakra model.
Applied Kinesiology. In Applied Kinesiology (#54), the state of the chakras is assessed through muscle testing — each chakra is matched to a test muscle.
